Rising country artist Cody Jinks’ cover of a rock and roll classic is sure to give you chills.
Now, artists cover Pink Floyd’s “Wish You Were Here” to death. Usually considered one of many iconic rock band’s greatest songs, its lyrical depth matched with unmistakable melody make it the stuff of legend. Simply put, covering the track nicely ain’t easy.
And yet, here comes Jinks along with his burly country baritone and slide guitar. The combination makes for a winning rendition. He keeps it fairly down the middle, however elects to repeat the track’s well-known chorus. It’s, as they say, decision.
